“Scoring Matrix Will Provide A Steer In Terms of Championship Aspirations”

Club followers will be aware that the Ewe Rams submitted what they believe to be a very strong application to become a Championship club at the end of January; however the voiding of the league season led to a delay in the process. According to Club Partner Relations Director, Richard Pope some recent clarity around the likely revised process going forwards has finally been received.

“It’s a really tricky one, as the FA and FAWNL are keen to see movement between the leagues, but arriving at a fair and equitable process on which decisions can be made is not easy. On the flip side to that, clubs such as ourselves need to make plans for 2021/22 and core to those plans are sponsorship deals and player retention and recruitment. Uncertainty over which league you’ll be in isn’t conducive to that process; however we’ve recently been issued with the revised % scoring matrix, which we hope will provide us with a steer in terms of chances of being in the mix.”
