Derby County Football Club Women

In the Boardroom – March

“Curtis Has Been A Strong Supporter and Advocate of the Women’s Squad” First Team Captain Curtis and OB Join Ewe Rams.

In keeping with a number of other clubs, the first team have been keeping in contact and shape during the current lockdown by way of weekly on-line strength and conditioning sessions with S&C Coach, Matt Maher; however as Club Partner Director, Richard Pope explains, the session on 9th March will showcase further evidence of the ‘One Club’ approach that sits at the core of Derby County’s DNA.

“The squad have been left in limbo to a degree, in not knowing if the season will resume or not; however they have naturally had to prepare themselves for resumption in terms of fitness. The on-line sessions with Matt are never going to compensate for full training; however they represent the best that we can achieve in the current circumstances.”

“In order to mix things up a bit the players are being joined by men’s captain, Curtis Davies on the 9th, along with Rams’ TV lead host, Owen Bradley. Curtis has been a strong supporter and advocate of the Women’s squad for some time, working alongside our own skipper, Hannah Ward on a few projects.  The session will be captured by Ram’s TV with elements of it broadcast as part of International Women’s Day.”
