“We Can Start To Make Certain Plans” As League & Cup Competition Updates Start To Land.

As our followers can imagine, whilst the past year has proved to be a testing time for football clubs it’s proved to be equally difficult period for the games custodians, namely the FA and the various league competition organisers.

At senior level the FA and FA Women’s National League engaged and consulted with clubs with a view to shaping ‘What Next’ options in the lead up to the governments much anticipated ‘Roadmap’ announcement last week.

According to Club Secretary, Sheila Rollinson, the clubs can start to make certain plans on the back of that being announced. “The Roadmap has subsequently advised the return of competitive sport from 29th March in the guise of training initially and then games. Having considered the feedback from clubs, the FA have quickly moved to announce the resumption of the FA Cup competition, which will see us travel the short distance to Loughborough Foxes on 4th April for Round 2 of the competition.”

“At the time of going to press with this bulletin, the FA Women’s National League had yet to confirm if they plan to recommence the league programme, extending it beyond May, or to mirror the 2019/20 season and void the campaign.”

“At Academy Level the Central Warwickshire League have announced that a new short format competition will be introduced, whilst the Derbyshire League & Derby Junior League have confirmed that they will re-commence. More details will no doubt emerge over the coming days and weeks, which will in turn be relayed to the wider club and its supporters.”
