Gibb “Fantastic Backing by Club Partners Yet Again”

Derby County Women Chief Executive Duncan Gibb believes that maintaining a raft of Club Partners this season is a fantastic achievement given the testing circumstances affecting businesses after the global pandemic.

The Ewe Rams have in previous seasons put the early ‘Sold Out’ signs up on Club Partnerships but with the Covid19 outbreak affecting businesses, to get as many renewals as they have, shows that businesses are still wanting to invest in the Derby County brand.

Gibb said “It’s been such an unprecedented few months and as a club we were just days away from launching our Club Partnerships when the country was put into lockdown and so there were far more important things to think about at that time and so we put that side of the club to bed for a few months.

“With the football season showing signs around late July of a planned return to football, we began to tentatively speak to our fantastic partners and being fully aware that some businesses wouldn’t be in the position to continue our partnerships for the upcoming season and we fully understood that.

“We ourselves forecasted that into our budgets this season but we have really been amazed at how many have agreed a new partnership for the upcoming season and we are so thankful to them for their continued support and I’m glad that over the next week we’ll be announcing our renewals and helping them promote their businesses.”

With both the Academy season and senior season now underway, Gibb is hopeful that their will be other companies that still want to engage in talks and believes that for any business, linking their name to a thriving club as well as the Derby County brand, can be game changing for businesses.

“As expected we still have a few Club Partnerships available and we are still looking to speak to prospective partners and see if we can get something sorted. We are very proud of our Academy and it gets bigger and better each year and the girls have been fantastic in coping with whats going on so we are hoping we can fill our Academy shirts over the next few weeks.

“A lot of our partnerships have been with us for multiple years and have once again returned this season and so we think we go above and beyond what is expected of the partnership but that is how it should be and we know we will be needing to go even further this year to repay that faith.

“One of the biggest benefits of being involved with Derby County Women is being aligned to the fantastic Derby County brand and opening up avenues with the main club. We are always happy to facilitate conversations and many get their foot in the door and it helps their businesses grow.

“We continue to plan for our own growth as a club and everyone has seen the amazing success of women’s football over the last few years. We know that it’s only going to get bigger and our ambitions match those of the game and the next 10 years are going to be so exciting and we are looking forward to helping support businesses through the great platform that is women’s football and Derby County.

“We still have a couple of partnerships available for our Academy sides and we would welcome an opportunity to speak to any potential partners with a view to working with us this season. Our record shows that we give excellent value for money and we believe we can give you the partnership that will be of a huge benefit to any business.”
